Tiger&Bunny 25 - Eternal Immortality

Want the short version of what I'm going to write? Watch the show. Once you get through the first episode it's surprising at so many levels. And now it's finished you won't have to deal with the cliffhangers.

For the long version and after episode 25 thoughts (once again, haven't seen the subs yet) it's under the cut. Because I wouldn't want to spoil.

Mawaru PenguinDrum 10 - Fate loves me

You may have noticed the incredible amount of posts in this blog during the last days, let me tell you something. Insomnia has only one good redeeming point : more time to blog.
And, while my brain really wants to make a rant post about the end of No.6, it'll have to wait.
Penguindrum's more important.

Mostly because I want to say : I WAS RIGHT! (It happens pretty often with me so you should always be ready for that)
The particular point I was right about that was finally proven in this episode is the existence of another Boshi-sama like being. Say hello to Mario!

Mario has the same hair color as Himari. I'm thus concluding they're related.
I thought at first that he might be his soulmate but she seems to be taller than him so I don't think he is.

I'll be quick to go over the rest of the anime, because there's something else I think is important and I want to share.
- Glad to see Shoma is OK, felt sorry for him when he was poisonned TWICE in less than 24 hours and loved the bondage. Obviously.
- Kanba was adorable, trying not to show he cared for Shoma that much. Or did he have another motive? Something that must be accomplished in which Shoma is absolutely needed? Basically, does Kanba knows more about their fate than he really lets us know? And that may be the reason why he gave the diary back to Ringo.
- Who managed to even grow more on me. She cares for Shoma. It's cute. She's moving on, I'm happy for her.
- Himari finally decided to make her move to catch her soulmate but, who the hell it is?
- Masako's real motive on the other hand escapes my understanding. Is her project M the same as it is for Ringo? Does she need a baby from Kanba? And why Kanba in the first place? Where could we place Yuri and Tabuki in this mess? Does Yuri have a penguin too? Is Tabuki hiding something?
- You may think that Ringo is just as out of place as Yuri in my theory, that she has no Boshi-sama to fight for, but, I think I heard something, Masako's working with someone(s), she couldn't have been there to take the diary at the same time she was talking with Kanba, and it was clearly a man we heard on the phone.
So, I'm not too sure I heard right but I'm pretty sure the voice on the phone was the voice of her father.
There might be more to Ringo's and her family's involvement than they make it out to be.

Hang in there there's more. The whole sequence of Shouma going down the stairs in that strange building/dream.

To be honest I skipped the visuals, they probably have some kind of meaning but I was too concentrated on the music (to the point it's stuck in my head). That dear readers was an excerpt from Dvořák's New World Symphony, which wouldn't be that relevant if it wasn't the 2d movement of that symphony which is commonly sung during funerals.
I don't think the French lyrics are relevant so have the English ones (the relevant ones ^^)
Going home, going home
I'm just going home
Quiet light, some still day
I'm just going home
It's not far, just close by
Through an open door
Work all done, care laid by
Going to fear no more
Mother's there expecting me
Father's waiting, too
Lots of folk gathered there
All the friends I knew
All the friends I knew
I'm going home
Nothing's lost, all's gain
No more fret nor pain
No more stumbling on the way
No more longing for the day

First, note that Kanba is going down, so, it does seem to enforce the theory that he's in the dark side of the twins.
Second, see what I bolded? I'm now pretty sure their parents are dead.
It really got me thinking about Kanba's role in this, if he just had to push Shoma in the right direction, if the role he was determined to play is now finished or if there are several versions of the fate they're supposed to be tied to. In that case, for each Boshi-sama one fate? And everyone of them are going to fight against the others to find the Penguindrum and make their very own destiny win. In that case, having the diary of the adverse "team" is indeed something very useful.
I really can't wait to see how it goes.

Oh and I've wanted to say that since last week but : Sanetoshi really has long eyelashes.

We have attained Steins;Gate. El. Psy. Congroo

Steins;Gate has ended, after 6 months of weekly wednesdays spent watching the show. I was excited by the plot when it first was announced, I really enjoyed watching but I never thought I'd be that sad when it'll end.
Thankfully, they announced a movie and the trailer shows nothing but things we already saw in the anime and I have no idea what the hell they'll put in that movie. An alternate ending maybe?

While it isn't one of my favorite anime ever it is something I want to re-watch. It is something I enjoyed from the beginning to the end and it definitely is something I'd recommend.

The reason is simple, its fits a lot of my requirements for anime (not that there's such a fixed list in my head but who cares?)
- The plot is interesting. Even before knowing about Steins;Gate I knew I'd enjoy this, people making a time machine out of a microwave? It just sounds so weird that it's bound to be at least a bit interesting.

- It's well written. The pace is great. It introduces characters little by little, slowly builds the tension until the events finally take a tragic turn and everything goes faster. I complained about the episodes dedicated entirely to a single character before, but in the end everything falls together perfectly. In each of these episodes Okabe grew to understand people more, he grew to care more, to feel more, just so that in the end he and the world can be happy. It does show that nothing is truly meaningless and I find that a great lesson.

- The cast is eargasmic. Mamoru Miyano is someone I grew to love a lot since his role in Durarara!!, and to be honest I didn't recognize him at first and as much as I loved Light and Kida, Okabe is now my favorite role of his. He managed to voice the mad scientist moments as well as showing the despair that hit Okarin, that was quite the challenge I think. Aside from Kana Hanazawa (who I love) and Kobayashi Yuu (who I hate, I'm glad Rukako doesn't speak much) I wasn't too familiar with the girls but I was glad to ear Saori Goto (as Moeka) again (she's Q damnit! I loved Q) and very glad to discover Imai Asami, her voice really quited Kurisu well.

- It's pretty. I've admired huke's work for a long, long time so I'm always glad to see more of his designs animated. The atmosphere too is really well done, you can feel the tension sometimes or the peace of mind of the protagonist only by looking at the scenery around them. It's quite great.

- It's entertaining. That's one of the main point of anime isn't it? It's amusing to watch and I loved to see them all interact, even in the darkest moments of the story.

- It made my brain work. The ones who do that are always the ones I remember the most. Once you got the hang of it you couldn't help but wonder how the hell things will turn out, what will be achieved by working together, whether or not they'll beat CERN and how, at every episode there were things to think about.
Even if it wasn't the most brain wrecking anime I've seen, far from it, the simple fact it dealt with time travel just forced you to think to understand how it worked (and I just felt like I had to do researches afterwards)

And while I know it obviously had flaws, for now, I can't find one to share. (I'll probably do when I'll rewatch, you never pick everything up at the first watch)

Kuuki's crazy anime watchlist corner desuu~ #10

Oh clever introductions why do you fail me?
Why do my writing drive fail me too? I have so many post ideas and they're sitting there, drafted but not quite completed.
And why, why is Evangelion so ... boring? (At least by episode 12, where I'm at ^^)

Kuuki's crazy anime watchlist corner desuu~ #8

Usually I'd find something clever to introduce my bi-weekly recap post but you know what? I have no idea today so guess I'll just leave you with a spoiler warning, as usual.

Top5 Anime music of Spring 2011

Character songs excluded obviously, because I have a few things sitting around I've been in love with and while waiting for the first show of the Summer Season to make their way to the internet (I should have watched Sacred Seven, it airs just after Tiger&Bunny, why, just why did mother decide to bother me at this moment? *sobs*)

As usual, I'm picky, very picky, so please bear with me?
I really wonder why I bother making a "top something" considering these are the only ones I liked.

Pandemic!! - Yondemasuyo Azazel-san (Aaaw so sad I couldn't find the full version on Youtube, instead, have some Miku!)

Kagerou - Sengoku Otome

Core Pride - Ao no Exorcist

Unity - Gosick

Fade - Deadman Wonderland

And TWO bonus.
First, a cover of Tiger&Bunny's OP because the bassist is hilarious (and the vocalist pretty good)

And a violin cover of Magia (yeah I know it's from last season but it's too beautiful, even the vocals are good)

The story of Sekaiichi Hatsukoi and me

Once upon a time happened a fujoshi (me) who finished her THIRD BL anime. In more or less one year I managed to finish three BL animes. Does it say anything about me? Probably.
And what does it say you ask? That I love seiyuu too much for my own sanity.

So yeah, after my last two desastrous experiences with BL anime, I just HAD to do it again. Obviously.
A lot of girls around me were going about how awesome Sekaiichi Hatsukoi was. I'm curious so I asked what it was about, BL I was told. I frowned and said I wasn't interested then moved on.
But one day, someone whom I think starts to know me a bit too well told me Kamiya Hiroshi was in it. And then I said : Need. To. Watch. Now.

Obviously. He was the cause of the first disaster too. (The cause of the second was Hochuu Ohtsuka in case you were wondering)
In the end, did I like it? No. Did I hate it then? Well it's not like you could say that either.

Sure I wanted to just hit a few characters here and there.
Ok, I pretty much wanted to hit everyone. Except three of them, strangely enough. (Kamiya's character aside because he could be the worst asshole on earth I'd still like him) And god knows how important characters are in a show, I wanted to punch half of the main cast, so that is a problem and the reasons I only half watched a few episodes.

Second thing I didn't like? Art style and animation. As for the artstyle, well, it's pretty much a given I have a hate for pointy faces and shôjo like style so yeah, that was bad for my eyes, the colors were pretty toned down though, even all the pink of the office was easy to bear. As for the animation, ever litterally burst out laughing during a kiss scene? That's what happened to me at every one of them.

The story? Well it's about things like "I don't love him, I totally don't love him, there's no way I love hiiiiiim!" and "Do I love him?" "Am I good enough?" "I don't understand what's going on"
That kind of thing. And I don't like animes entirely based on love stories, they bore me.

To be fair, the seiyuu were great. Thankfully.
And it was sometimes funny, and I loved Onodera's inner monologues. He just re-ignited my dying respect for Kondo Takashi.

Morality of the story? You've just encountered a fujoshi who doesn't like BL animes. I think having gone through 3 of them is enough to be sure of that.

[Review]AnoHana

Far, far back in time (OK, April but human memory can be very short) an anime I didn't like appeared. And to be honest I shouldn't be surprised anymore that when I don't like a first episode I end up liking the serie.

So, let's go back, AnoHana it is, because I still don't remember the full title is mostly a story about friendship and  acceptance.

In the end, it's beautiful. The tearjerking kind of beautiful. And strangely realistic despite dealing with a ghost. Though that doesn't really matter anymore.
I'm not even sure of what I want to comment on either. Seiyuu were damn awesome, good enough to make me cry buckets.

The characters too are awesome, remember how I hated Anaru? I don't anymore. How she spoke to Tsuruko in the last episode impressed me very much. Yukiatsu has been painful to look at for how unwilling he was to get close to anyone but Memna. Tsuruko for how she was holding it the whole time, never slipping a word and always there from the sides. Poppo too for his neverending quest of seeing things capable of erasing what he saw on that day. Jintan too for not finding a way to move on after the death of probably the most two important women of his life. And Memna, longing for something she'll never have, yet trying her hardest to fullfill a promise made for the sake of her friends.
Memna's family too portrayed very realistic reactions.

I can't even say anything about the plot because everything was based on the characters and their interaction more than on what they were exactly doing. That's what drew me in. That's what I wanted to know more of. Wishes? Fireworks? I couldn't care less, all I wanted to see is how they would react to everything, whether or not they'd make up, laugh or fight.

In the end I cried (but I do cry for the strangest things lately, example, C) because it was sad yes, but beautiful.

[Review]C

Remember a few months ago the first episode of that awesome show called C aired, the one I thought was my favourite of the season? Well, it's not anymore. Not totally. (But that's only because I think Tiger&Bunny shouldn't count in the competition. It's just too awesome I feel like it wouldn't be fair to the other shows.)

So what was it about again? Basically battles with money and where you gamble your future on the fights, all of this orchestrated by some great unknown power.

Now what did I think about it? I don't know. I REALLY don't know.
It's the kind of ambitious serie that has everything to be awesome, a good plot, good characters, good voice acting, good music even if not very noticeable. So, what happened?

The only possible explanation is that it was just too ambitious for a 11 episode serie. But it's a shame.

I wanted to know more about assets. I wanted to know more about the Guild. More about Masakaki. More about how the district worked. I wanted to know what C is. I wanted to know about Kimimaro's father. About Jennifer's organization. About Mikuni. Just about how everything worked. About the effects on real life. About Hanabi. I wanted to know about the used up futures.
Well I just wanted a proper explanation.

I didn't understand everything, far from it, of that ending. As an episode I would have loved it. As an ending it just doesn't work. But as I've seen a lot of people wondering about it, so I guess it's still worth throwing my explanations/theories out there.
I still don't know who that strange guy might be but I got the feeling Kimimaro wasn't really part of the world anymore and that everything was just, simply, a reset.
Like, Kimimaro, Mikuni and others are just players in a game that can be resetted at any time and of which the rules could change at any times.
It felt that way to me.

So yeah I would have loved more explanations and I feel like I have been trolled. I am not happy but happy at the same time.

And I still don't know what to think about this anime ...

Spring 2011 : Voices hit or miss!

Despite having been going to sleep later and later everyday, I've been finding myself a bit troubled when it came to actually falling asleep, hence my lovely brain going a bit crazy and it actually manages to find ideas for new blog posts. Granted, there are ideas that are definitely not fit for posts but still.

So today is the first installement of the seiyuu only report of the last season! Ok it's not finished, but I don't particulary think they'll suddenly introduce anything really new in that aspect. As usual, it's based on my tastes only, which are a bit peculiar, if not totally weird. (Though for seiyuu I have to say my tastes are pretty "normal" compared to other stuff)
Well whatever, here is my attempt to list what my ears liked or what they didn't, listed anime by anime, that I watch, wouldn't dare to judge something I am not watching. (But it's half of the season anyway so ...)
Oh and there's a deliberate order. Somehow.

Gintama
I am not going to bother granted that there are pretty much at least a hundred characters.
Just now that Sugita Tomokazu is as awesome as usual and that Norio Wakamoto's and Hochuu Ohtsuka's characters should appear more often. But because I love them, it's not going to happen.

Deadman Wonderland
- Pretty much everyone has been miscast in this. I don't even know how to express my disappointment.
+ FukuJun, Suwabe Junichi and Kana Hanazawa are the only ones who actually fit their role and are at it.

Sengoku Otome
+/- This has only girls so, same problem as in KamiNomi, can't recognize them very well.
+/- They can sing though. Mostly. And they're cute

HenZemi
+ Seiyuu are the only real interest of the show and why I picked it up in the first place so ... (that and the fact I just realized that my guy friends from middle school are weirder than I thought they were)

Hanasaku Iroha
- Omigawa Chiaki happens to be one of the seiyuu I hate
+ Nothing to report on anyone else

KamiNomi
+/- Most girls voices are not recognizable enough. But my ears find a lot of girls seiyuu just plain, I really love 4 and I really hate 2.
+ Hiro Shimono is good at this, switching from the nice and calm mode to the hysterical one.

Beelzebub
- I have more interest for side characters' voice actors than for the main roles.
- What's the point of hiring Sawashiro Miyuki to say "dayum" every 3 seconds?
+ Sugita Tomokazu is awesome.
+ Casting Takahashi Hiroki as the Great Demon Lord may have been the best idea ever.

Gosick
- Sawashiro Miyuki as Claudia, something is just not right.
-/+ Kujou, I mean, he's plain, which is nice, but he should stand out more.
+ Kiuchi Hidenobu, who doesn't get enough roles.
+ Yuuki Aoi, never expected a single anime to change my views on her so much. She's absolutely incredible as Victorique.

AnoHana
+ I have nothing to complain about. Just wanted to take the chance to say once more that Sakurai Takahiro is awesome.

C
+ Sakurai Takahiro and his acting are marvelous.
+ Uchiyama Kouki (Kimimaro) who sounds just plain enough for Kimimaro and whose voice I love.
+ Daisuke Hosomi (Mikuni) FINALLY HAS MORE ROLES!

Steins;Gate
+ The cast is perfect. Just perfect. They all sound as normal as possible considering the circonstences.
+ MAMORU MIYANO! It has gotten to the point I didn't even recognize him at first. Never thought he'd be able to pull it off so well.

Yondemasu yo Azazel-san
+ Daisuke Namikawa is awesome.
+ Kamiya Hiroshi is awesome
+ Onosaka Masaya is made for this kind of role
+ It has awesome surprises appearance such as Kazuya Nakai and ... Keiji Fujiwara.

Ao no Exorcist
- Ono Daisuke as Arthur (granted he hasn't even appeared yet but I'm not happy) it just doesn't fit the character.
-/+ Yuusa Kouji as Renzou Shima, I love his voice but it makes me feel like he's a villain.
-/+ Kazuya Nakai as Bon, it's not bad per say, and it's exactly the kind of character I'm used to hear him voice, it's just that's something wrong with it.
-/+ FukuJun as Yukio. Sorry, I love you, but you should have played Arthur. Yukio should have been voiced by ... Toyonaga Toshiyuki? Well someone more of his style at least. (And it's NOT because I miss him, granted, I would have been dead happy since popular anime = character song and I'm in love with his singing)
+ Kana Hanazawa as Shiemi. Note that they have the same haircut. And that I had predicted it!
+ Nobuhiko Okamoto as Rin. Unexpected, REALLY unexpected considering he hasn't been really that active but he does a much better job than I thought he would.
+ Keiji Fujiwara as Fujimoto because damn, badass and sweet all at the same time. Was totally wary of him at first, well, he's been Ladd, so ...
+ Kamiya Hiroshi as Mephisto. Who could better than him voice a plotting bastard?

Tiger&Bunny
+ Yuusa Kouji as Yuri Petrov/Lunatic. Just the right amount of villain vibes and not villain vibes.
+ FUJIWARA KEIJI as Jake Martinez or the guy who just increased my suspicions on Maverick being the ultimate villain even more.
+ Kotobuki Minako, the girl who voices Tsumugi because she doesn't sound like at all like Tsumugi in this anime.
+ Morita Masakazu because I didn't like him before, still don't like him in any of his other roles but am totally in love as Barnaby.
+ Yuko Kaida because damn, her "Bonjour Heroes" is so incredibly erotic.
+ Tsuda Kenjiro as Fire Emblem because that guy is awesome, and he seems like such a fun person.
+ Hiroaki Hirata, granted, I didn't know him all that much before, just heard him in extracts of Pirate of the Carribeans Japanese version as Jack but I'm impressed, his voice goes up, and down, and it's gentle and not gentle the next second. Perfect. (and one day I'll give in and watch One Piece)
And have a bonus, + for Maaya Sakamoto, who doesn't appear in the anime but who voices Amamiya Tomoe, Kotetsu's tsundere meganeko wife, in the drama CD. (and you're not making me believe there's no relation with Mami Tomoe, nope, never)

Spring 2011 : Characters Top10!

During the last Tiger&Bunny episode I suddenly started to think about how fucking loveable they all were (between one or two tears crisis, I cry easily don't mind me) and thought that, since I currently need a distraction, I'd make a top 10 of my favorite characters of the season. So here you go!
Reverse order because I love to keep suspense, or so I like to pretend.

10 -Bee-yan (Yondemasu-yo Azazel-san)
I know it's weird considering he has some rather peculiar tastes when it comes to food but he's so funny, well that's one of the things that make him funny. I love the contrast between his two forms too and how he can be so incredibly evil and yet, somehow, thougtful.

9 - Father Fujimoto (Ao no Exorcist)
He's just the kind of plotting bastard I like, you know he's hiding something but you can't help but liking him because despite everything he is a good guy. He raised Satan's son after all and he's damn badass even if he doesn't seem to be.

8 - Msyu (C)
Her character development was lovely. How she started by not caring that much for Kimimaro, not understanding him the slightest. Continuing by trying to understand know him better, softenning, and ending up loving him. That's cute. And she's badass.

7 - Akutabe (Yondemasu-yo Azazel-san)
He's a sadistic bastard. That's all I have to say.
But deep down he cares. Probably.

6 - Mikuni (C)
I admire Mikuni a lot, yes, despite everything. He's willing to do anything to protect what he believes he should protect. He's like, a villain with good intentions.

5 - Ivan Karelin/Origami Cyclone (Tiger&Bunny)
I never thought I'd like him as much as I do now. But you have to admit he did grow up a lot, well, he had more screentime to start with. I just really, really loved his determination in episode 11. That's, mostly, why I like him. And he has the cute face of a kitten (don't judge me ok? I'm a shallow fangirl)

4 - Barnaby Brooks Jr. (Tiger&Bunny)
First, I love tsundere characters. Second, I feel truly sorry for him, and it makes me happy to see him "trusting" other people. Ok, I just want to hug him and find his dedication to find his parents' murderer really admirable, even if it's just an escape.

3 - Q (C)
This week's episode made me fall in love. So cute, well she's always been cute but she ended up being scary too. I really love the contrast. I think she should have had more screentime.

2 - Mephisto Pheles (Ao no Exorcist)
Flamboyant twisted bastard, obviously planning something AND an otaku. What's there not to love?

1 - Kaburagi T. Kotetsu/Wild Tiger (Tiger&Bunny)
Surprised much? XD
I don't even know where to start, well, he's adorable isn't he? And strong, and dedicated both to his work and his family, and I love how he protects his beliefs no matter what and how he cares for everyone and tries to stay positive despite the situation.

I want everyone to please note two things as a conclusion :
- OMG I like anime girls! GIRLS! Can you believe it?
- I didn't include a screencap of that Tiger&Bunny scene. Be proud!

Spring 2011 : The end!

I finally watched everything I wanted to watch this season, clicking on the title will bring you to the original first impression post if it exists, if not, then I'm sorry?

- Ao no Exorcist : I've fallen in love all over again, this will be my RAW watching of the season, I just have a little problem with FukuJun as Yukio but I'll deal with it. Or at least try to. Then again I don't know who I would have chosen (maybe Toyonaga Toshiyuki but that's because I miss him ^^)
A bit different from the manga but I will be able to deal with a bit of fillers, and here they added to Rin's character development so that's ok.
Did I mentionned I'm in love with the music?

- Gintama : My good old Gintama is back, well I say "old" but I finished the first "season" in february XD
But it's back and still feels the same.

- C : Nothing to add to the first impression post, this is my favourite show of the season.

- Deadman Wonderland : I still don't like Romi Paku as Genta, nope, not gonna happen. Pleasantly surprised by Suwabe Junichi as the evil director, otherwise I like it, I liked the manga so yeah, was supposed to happen, a bit disappointed to know it'll only be 12 episodes, it doesn't make much sense to me, things will be rushed.

- Steins;Gate : I'll never ever trust bananas again. And if you're like me, do not either.
On another hand, it's really slow paced, really, really slow paced but I love it.

- AnoHana : Nothing to add to the first impression post.

- Hyouge Mono : Nothing to add either, yes I'm lazy.

- Yondemasu yo Azazel-san : The second episode has Kamiya. I love Kamiya.
Just, yeah, you may be grossed out by that one so be warned (it's still not as horrible as Hen Zemi though but that's another story)

 - Kami Nomi : Nothing changed, still the old pattern. Not bad though, just not great either.

- Sket Dance : Nope. Not gonna happen. Didn't like it and don't know why.

- Hen Zemi : I'm shocked, not by what's in it, I'm practically immune by now, but by the fact no one thought suitable to censor it. That's very questionnable and the second episode is even more gross than the first. Once again, you're warned.

- Tono to Issho Zokuhen : CRUNCHYROLL IS BLOCKED IN FRANCE GODDAMNIT! /sobs forever

- Sengoku Otome : Against all odds, I liked it. It'll be my guilty pleasure. It's not the greatest thing ever made but I still liked it. Its best point? No males. Yup, not a single one.

The runner-ups, a.k.a. I didn't intend to watch because I watch too much stuff already but I'm hopeless so let's add a bit more.

- Tiger&Bunny : I changed my mind about this one, wasn't going to continue but the second episode hooked me. I love Kotetsu and how he interacts with people, how he tries to coope with hardships and sometimes even looks cool. I'm glad it's character based rather than plot, because honestly, the plot isn't that great.

- Hanasaku Iroha : Another unexpected thing, they're honestly never bored in that inn, us neither as a result. I usually don't like slice of life but this one is really enjoyable.

That and Gosick and Beelzebub, make 15 animes to follow, at the same time, while watching other older series as well.
ALL HAIL HOLLIDAYS!
I'll die. I'm sure I'll die. Why can't I control myself? I can't even remember the characters' names with so many series /sobs

[1st episode]Hyougemono

Ok, I never thought this would get subbed, never, but since it is let's rejoice and review, then we'll call the end of the Spring 2011 first impression serie. For a very good reason, I don't really see the need to give first impressions for a second season and I can't objectively review things for which I read and love the manga. Or no, I could but I'm so damn lazy.

Anyway, Hyougemono what is it? The story of a guy, serving under Oda Nobunaga and who obsess over pretty things in the Sengoku Jidai.

Characters are easy, there's the main, Sasuke who makes some of the best faces I've ever seen and Nobunaga who is, well, Nobunaga.
It happens that I like Nobunaga and all his different portrayals, everywhere, as for Sasuke, his obsession is the determining point of his personnality, that and a strange ability to be a goddamn hypocrite ready to do anything to live his life as a warrior and hopefully keep his head on his shoulders.

OP and ED are so unfitting that it becomes funny, nothing to say about the music either and Sasuke's voice is pissing me off.

Truth is, this is not for everyone.
It would be best to have prior knowledge of the Sengoku Jidai, its important places and warlords or else it'll quickly become boring and bothersome.
Aside from this, well, I don't have much to say, from my point of view it tries to mix the pursuit of the calmness of the tea ceremony and art with the very violent Sengoku era.
I would recommend it for educationnal purposes but be prepared to be bored a bit, even if you are a fan of the period.

[1st episode]Anohana

Only two animes left before I can call the end of the beginning of the spring season, I'm kinda impatient but since I read the manga for both it kinda takes all the fun, anyway, today, in our serie of impossible to remember anime series title comes Anohana!

The story is one of a young boy who needs to gather all of his childhood friends after they drifted apart to fulfill the wish of one of them who have died.

We don't know the characters much so far, the dead girl is annoying though and the main character, well, not very peculiar, the Kuroko look alike annoys me too, there's the perfect boy who happens to be a jerk and the perfect girl.
So far, the only one I really like is the "delinquant" (but then again that was expected)
I must say they're realistic though.

Didn't like the OP nor the ED (but you're supposed to get used to that coming from me), the music fits and as for the seiyuus, Memna's voice is hard on my ears but the rest is pretty nice, and there's Sakurai Takahiro, it's always good to have Sakurai Takahiro.

The anime in itself is something I'll probably find very boring in the end, nothing happens, there's no big mystery because we know he'll somehow manage. Yet I loved it, because aside from the whole ghost thing it could be everyone's story and because I want my heart to be warmed up at the end.

[1st episode]C etc

Screw it, despite having been desperately waiting for this, I still can't remember the full title (then again, there's worse cf : Anohana), anyway here come the first impressions post of C.

I can't really sum it up, just know it's complicated stuff involving money, weird figts, conspiracy theories, there's also a bit of slice of life.

We don't know much about the characters yet, there's the main guy who seems pretty generic, the kind who thinks he's better off if he ignores everyone around him who just wants a normal life.
The girl he's probably in love with who helps him but sadly already has a boyfriend she probably don't love.
Then come the characters of the other "world", a bit weird, all of them, and the most normal of them all is a bit creepy, he wants somethingbut we don't know what, I hope we'll see him again he's my favourite (which means we probably won't see him)
And last but not least the real creepy guy, the one who seems to be in charge of organizing everything, this show's very own Mephisto, except more creepy.
There's no one I dislike, they all have their secrets and hidden motivations, even the main (well obviously, he wouldn't have been dragged in this otherwise)

Didn't like the OP nor the ED, as usual.
Music is by Iwasaki Taku so wonderful as usual, just probably not the one I would have chosen but it works anyway.
Seiyuu are nice, there's Sakurai Takahiro as the real creepy guy, he does well and his voice changes a lot, it's very enjoyable to hear all the changes in his tone.
Then there's the guy who voiced Natsuno in Shiki, Soul in Soul Eater and the main guy in Gundam UC but I never remember his name, one day I will though and last but not least of the ones I remember there's the guy who voiced Genkishi in KHR, no one cares but I liked him a lot so I'm happy he finally gets more roles.

(Un)fortunately I'll be very biased because this happens to be my favourite anime of the season.
So yeah, I just love it, if you ask me everything is perfect and thus this is a totally useless opinion.
I just hope it'll stay that way because usually when I fangirl so much over a first episode the rest ends up to be bad. Well at least it'll continue being interesting since nothing has been cleared.

[1st episode]Yondemasu-yo Azazel-san!

Aaaw, four animes left before I can say I gave a try to everything I wanted to this season. I'm going to be swamped.

Oh nevermind, if it's to get more shows like Yondemasu yo Azazel-san I'd gladly be swamped!
Akutabe is a detective who use the occult to resolve affairs, and his favourite tool appears to be the demon Azazel. Not to forget the "nice and sexy" assistant he hired.

The characters are nuts. All of them.
Akutabe is evil. Azazel is a joke as a demon and the girl is the only more or less sane character of the pack.
More or less because her angry moments are spectacular.

My ears are in heaven, I get Namikawa Daisuke as the detective, Onosaka Masaya perfect as Azazel and later I'll get Kamiya Hiroshi as the penguin. I'm in heaven I tell you.

The anime in itself is not bad per say but it isn't good either, there's no distinctive plot and it's mostly trying to be fun, and it works! Probably because it's short.
I'd say to watch it for the nonsense, the crazy reactions of the characters and because it's a light hearted comedy that can't hurt anyone.
(Except if you're sensitive on the sex topic because Azazel is the demon of lust ^^)

[1st episode]Hen Zemi

I should probably stop watching so many different genres but I definitely can't help it. That plot seemed to be interesting you know?
A normal girl more or less shoved into the lions' cage, or said differently a more or less normal girl choosing to attend a seminar with and about weird people and trying to keep her sanity in these difficult circonstances. If she ever had some sanity.

As you could expect from such a summary, the characters are weird, that much is obvious. Even the supposed-to-be-normal is. Even though I don't like her, a bit too innocent and passionate at the same time AND in love. Bad combo if you ask me.
My personnal favourite is the manga drawing guy because no one can beat his logic, considering that everything in our body is interconnected, touching a finger is the same as touching one's boobs.
And now I finally know why I punch everyone who touches me, thank you!

The OP is minimal and the ED is sung by Kana Hanazawa, thus I love it.
Talking about her she voices the clueless girl, only redeeming quality about that character but I still think they should have chosen someone else, oh well, I love her I won't mind.
I also spotted Mugi's seiyuu somewhere and there's Ishida Akira, I love it when he voices twisted characters.
Music is forgettable.

The anime in itself is only 12 minutes long, probably the best format so it wouldn't become too boring, beside looking at the artstyle make my eyes bleed but at the same time watching/reading something just for the art took me as far as to read something with zombies on the Titanic (*cough*Kuroshitsuji*cough*) so I'm willing to pass it off. Still, K-On was prettier, at least they cared for the backgrounds, and god knows I'm not a fan of K-On's artstyle either.
All of this to say, I shouldn't watch, you shouldn't watch either, but it's only 12 minutes of animes and it has good seiyuu so ....

(Next time I say that, kill me? It's a bad idea and I know it ^^)

[1st episode]Sengoku Otome Momoiro Paradox

Let's continue the serie of first episodes reviews, this time with Sengoku Otome Momoiro Paradox, which, this time, I did intend to watch. Or at least try to.

That one has been adapted from a pachinko game and if I had to summarize it I'd probably say it's just that Sengoku Jidai warlords are girls (mostly with huge boobs) and that they're looking for a special armor.

It's based on a pachinko game, what would you expect from characters?
Answer normally would be : nothing, except, not there.
While I pretty much hate this tsundere version of Mitsuhide (I like him creepy and twisted better ^^) I pretty much have a crush on Nobunaga who appears to be strong and kind-hearted. Nobunaga, kind hearted, see?  Even the main character who is totally clueless which I normally hate, manages to amuse me a bit.
Morality is : never judge before watching. Even though the characters ARE generic, I won't deny it.

I kinda like the ED and the OP, another thing which surprised me; seiyuu fit too, too bad I'm not much into girls seiyuu (aside from my crush on Kana Hanazawa) so I can't really fangirl but from what I've heard I don't think I know them anyway.
The most surprising thing I heard there is the music. It's special you know. At least it striked my ears and I thought "OMG it's amazing", another good point.

The anime in itself is pretty much average though. Art is normal, animation is normal, story seems like it's been taken from a random RPG game, meaning there's nothing revolutionnary to it.
All in all I'm impressed though, I expected this to be really bad, but it has good points. For real.

[1st episode]Hanasaku Iroha

Second edition of "I didn't want to watch but people said I should so I'm doing it anyway and beside I'm a masochist I can totally follow more than 10 series AT ONCE".
That being said I'll never regret starting Hanasaku Iroha.

So what is it? A slice of life about a girl abandonned by her "very caring" mother who thought it was better to flee with some random dude who has debts and is taking advantage of her. She's sent to her grandmother who disowned her daughter and pretty much hate the girl.
She then has to adapt to a new life, working in her grand mother's inn with nice and not so nice people.

Characters are lovely. Apparently we haven't even met everyone yet so I'm looking forward to it.
As you can see there are mostly girls in this though some male characters are appearing they do not seem they'll be the focus of the serie, probably very important for main character though.
Anyway, said main character is your average girl, she doesn't know what to do with her life but she's pretty positive, hardworking too because her mother is hopeless, so when she's send to her grandmother she hopes for the best.
And the best doesn't happen. Her grandmother hates her and one of her co-worker already told her to die, twice. So even her positivism broke at some points, it took time but she broke down, in a realistic way.
All the other characters are realistic too.

Music is nice, ED is average, but I love the OP and the seiyuu are doing a really good job.

The anime in itself is lovely.
I usually don't like slice of life very much but that one is amazing. I didn't see the 20 minutes, honestly.
A lot happens in a short amount of time so you're never bored, as I said it's realistic too, and it's pretty and well done and colourful, sad and joyful, all at once.
I'm a fan.
You should watch.
Definitely.

[1st episode]Tiger&Bunny

First edition of "I didn't want to watch but do it anyway because people talk too much about it and it's pissing me off", the victim is Tiger&Bunny.

That was is easy to sum up. In an alternate/future/I don't know because I haven't read an official summary yet society some people have super powers and fight for justice while everything is recorded in a reality show.

Characters are, well, nothing special, some are very realistic and some are awful stereotypes.
Mixed feelings for me, but I love the Oyaji, who happens to be one of the realistic guy.

I forgot the OP and the ED, so I probably didn't like them.
Music fits, and cast fits too, nothing exceptionnal but nothing terrific.
The terrific thing was that indert song ED for the TV show. My ears are still bleeding.

The anime itself is not bad. It gave me Fntastic Four vibes though, except in a more crazy way. I've never been a fan of that show sadly.
I've never been a fan of super hero shows at all actually.
That's why I don't know about this. It has potential I won't deny it but I'm still disappointed, considering everyone and their mothers said it was great and all I expected better.
It's not bad, just could be better.
